PUTTING MUSIC PLAYLIST IN BLOG

1) sign into your blog

2) click "Layout"

3) Click "add a gadget" (circled red)

4)    At the add a gadget page, you will see this:

5)    Go to search (blue circle) and type in "music player"

6)    A list of music players will appear.  Select the one you want and then click "save".  it will appear on the sidebar of your blog.

PHOTO JOURNAL ~ A SLIDE SHOW

Want to do a photo journal like the one you see below?

You can...by following these simple steps:

STEP 1
First go to http://www.slide.com/. Sign up by clicking the button at the top right hand corner. Enter your email address and a password that you can remember.

After you sign up, there will may be a confirmation email sent to your email account. If there is, click the link they provide to confirm your account.


STEP 2
Upload all your photographs into a file in your computer where you can locate them later.


STEP 3
Sign into your account at http://www.slide.com/.


STEP 4
After you have signed in, at the "Upload Image" {see picture below red circle} and click BROWSE. Start uploading your photograph. After one is done, you can upload another or more.

STEP 5
When you have finished uploading, click "My Slide" that's located next to your user name {see picture below blue circle}. On this page, click the tab "Make A Slide Show" {green circle in 2nd picture} that's located just below your user name.

STEP 6
Once you are in the "Make a slide show" page. There are 3 things you see on the page.

1) Top: TV Screen {where you will see how your slide show turns out}

2) Middle: “Add Images From” and a orange screen {design area}

3) Bottom: All the pictures you selected will appear.

At "Add Images From..", click "Slide" {picture below yellow circle}. All the images you have uploaded will appear on the Orange Screen. Start selecting the pictures you want. After selecting, you will see that your photographs will start appearing at the bottom of the screen in rows.

STEP 7
After selecting your photographs for the slide show, all the photographs will appear below the slide show page {See picture below purple circle}. This is the file name of the photograph you just selected for the slide show.

Click on the black rectangle and you can change to any caption {title} you want. Do the same for the rest of the photographs.

If you don’t like the order of your photographs, you can click the whole box and drag to any position you want. If you want to remove the photograph, just click on the “X” on the box.

STEP 8
After changing the titles, scroll up and choose the collage or styles that you want {see picture below black circle}. You will see the different effects on the “TV”.

STEP 9
When you are happy with your slide show creation, click on the “Save” GREEN BUTTON below the Orange Screen. Then click “MY SLIDE” to go back to the main page.

STEP 10
At the main page, you will see the slide show that you have just created. Leave this browser screen alone first. Open another browser and log into your blog.

STEP 11
Go to your blog, create a post. Type your story. Then click the browser where you created your slide. Put your cursor on the embedded code {see picture below brown circle}. Right click and copy the code.

STEP 12
Go back to your blog. Choose “Edit Html” {see picture below blue circle} and then paste the code after the last line of your story. After pasting, go back to “compose”. Then click “Publish Post”. Log out and check your blog. The slide show will appear. All the Best!

A COLORFUL DAY

Today, make your day colorful by adding colours to your post.

First...go to CREATE POST when you log in. Follow the instructions:


1) Before you start to type, click this: on the toolbar above. Choose the font size "Large".

2) Then click this: and choose any colour you like and type any one sentence. For example:

"I like orange very much. It makes me think of a fruit."

3) Leave a line. Then click this: again and choose "Largest".

4) Then click the font color icon again and choose another colour. Type another sentence in the colour you chose. For example:

"It is a warm and sunny day. I feel very hot."

5) When you have finished, leave a line. This time, choose "green" text color . Then click the bold and italic icons on the toolbar and type the following sentence:

"I AM BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL AND FULL OF CONFIDENCE!"

6) After you have finished, click "PUBLISH POST" icon.

You have completed today's lesson.

ADD SOME GLITTER TO YOUR BLOG

1) Go to http://www.ego-box.com/.

2) At the side bar (see circled picture below), click any items comments or quotes from "DECORATION" category.






3) Look for the design you want. Once you have found it, click "GET THE CODE" {circled blue}. Then highlight the code in "HTML CODE" {circled blue}, right click "copy".






4) Log into your blog. Go to "CREATE NEW POST". when you are at this page, click "EDIT HTML" {circled red below}. Then paste the code you just copied from ego-box. After pasting the code, click "COMPOSE" {circled red below}. If you want, you can type something before or after the picture. If not, you can just leave it in your post.


5) You can also leave it in the "LAYOUT" at your dashboard, the same as when you insert your picture on the sidebar.

PUT PICTURE INTO HEADER

Right click and save your header (above) into your file.

HOW TO INSERT HEADER TO MY BLOG.

See the picture above? It is my blog page. I have put a header in my blog to make it more personal. Instead of a boring header with my blog name, I created a header. Above are headers created for Kin Yong, Teck Yong and Bing Yao. Follow the steps provided to learn how to insert the headers into your blogs.

STEPS

1) Right click your own header (above) and save it into your file.

2)Log into your blog. At the dashboard, click "Layout".

3) At the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" menu, click "Edit" on the header panel (as shown in the picture below.

4) You will be brought to the "Configure Header" page. Leave the Blog title and Blog Description alone. At "Image", select "From your Computer". Then click "browse" and look for your the header that you just saved into your computer. At "Placement" Select "Instead of title and description". Also select "Shrink to fit". Once you have done all these, click "SAVE".

5) You will be brought back to the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" again. Just click 'SAVE".

6) Go to your blog now and your header will be there.

7) Sometimes the header is one sided. It doesn't matter. I will show you how to align it next week.

HOW TO PUT HIT COUNTERS IN YOUR BLOG

Do you ever wonder how many people visit your blog? Well there are services you can install that can tell you all about the traffic on your site.

If you look at this blog, you can see the VISITOR COUNTER that I put on the right side. It's the one with the numbers. I started the counter from 1000 so people will think that 1000 people visited the blog.

To insert the hit counter, follow these steps:

1) Go to Easy Hit Counters .

2) Choose the style of hit counters

3) Fill up the form in that website.

Desired User Name: You can put your name
Desired Password: You can use your current password
Starting Count: You can start at 0 or 1000 (if you want to show that many people have been to your blog
Email Address: Your email address (email will be verified)
URL of page: Your blog address
Title of Page: Title of your blog

After filling up, click "I agree" and click "Submit".

4) A code will be given to you in the next page. Highlight and copy the whole code.

5) Then login into your blog. Click "Layout".

6) On the right column, click "Add a Page Element". Scroll down and when you see HTML/JavaScript, click "Add To Blog".

7) Paste the code that you have copied from the Hit Counter website. Give a title example VISITOR COUNTER. Then click "Save".

8) Back to the "Layout" page, click "Save" again.

9) View your blog and your hit counter will be there.

UPLOAD A VIDEO CLIP

Go to http://www.youtube.com/ and search for your favourite singing star.

In this example, I have uploaded JJ Lin's new song for the victims and survivors of the recent earthquake in China.

After you find the video clip, on the right side of the video screen there is the word "embed" below the person's name who uploaded the video clip.

click to highlight the embed code. Right click to copy.

In the post here, on the top right hand of the post toolbar, there are 2 tabs. One is Edit Html and the other Compose. Click on Edit Html, then right click "paste" the code. After you have done this, switch back to Compose and continue entering your post.

When you have finished, publish your post. When you view your blog, you will be able to see the video clip.
